Primary Responsibilities:
Treats patient to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maximize mobility, gait, strength and range of motion
Directs and aids patients in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training
Utilizes physical agents, as appropriate
Observes and reports to the physical therapist and Agency personnel the patient’s reaction to treatment and any changes in patient’s condition
Instructs patients in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes and prosthetic or orthotic devices
Maintains necessary records; clinical notes and conference notes, which will be incorporated into the patient’s clinical record in prescribed time frames
Participates in Agency home care team members meetings and Agency in-service education program
Performs other duties as assigned
Maintains clinical competency in physical therapy assistant practice and theory

Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate’s degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
Active unrestricted State of Nevada license or certificate to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant
Current CPR certification
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of current Physical Therapy Assistant professional standards of care, and state and federal regulations
Valid Nevada driver license with automobile that is in good working order and maintain personal auto insurance coverage in accordance with organization requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with an electronic medical record application
Demonstrated excellent observation, verbal and written communication and organization skills
Complies with accepted professional standards and practices
Basic PC skills to include Window, Outlook and Other email systems
Ability to prioritize and communicate objectives clearly
The hourly range for this role is $23.70 to $46.35 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
