Eaton Corporation Product Line Support Engineer in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Product Line Support Engineer.

What you’ll do:

Job Summary

Act as the Product Line Support Engineer and in plant product design expert to assure product compliance to Regulatory Standards. Is a liaison to the Technical Center resolving design issues at the manufacturing sites. Analyze product non conformances, conduct root cause analysis using problem solving techniques, identify corrective and preventive actions and work with cross functional teams on actions and implementations. Perform complex assigmennts often requiring development of new or improved products, processes or techniques. Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tests, products and equipment.

Job Responsibilities

"* Contributes to sucesful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflict design requirements.

  • Analyze product UL non conformances, conduct root cause analysis to assure product compliance to required Standards. Follow up corrective actions and implementation.

  • Coodinates project activities with other operating/engineering units to facilitate participation of appropiate resources in project completion.

  • Assists in determining project objectives to contribute to the development of a comprehensive project design.

  • Participate as a team member in a specific phase of a broader engineering assigment. Support the Team Leader/Project Manager as needed.

  • Coodination of effort with cross functional departments are required on a regular basis.

  • Provide technical soundness of design decisions and products changes to facilitate manufacturing, reduce cost, substitude material, improve quality and accommodate special customer needs.

  • Works with manufacturing functions to assure part manufacture leads to proper product design performance and Standard complaince.

  • Identify, prevent and correct manufacture issues that affect product function ability.

  • Designs fixtures and evaluates lab test data for product performance, make sound quality desicions based on test data and evidence.

  • Evaluates material, process and as needed initiates Engineering Change Notices (ECO).

*Work with manufacturing sites on planification, processes and strategies to accomplish a trouble free introduction of products into manufacturing. *Act as liaison to manufacturing facility. Participates in cross functional team meetings for new product launches.

  • Responsible of project development phases for product improvement.

  • Support manufacturing on a regular basis to ensure efficient production methods and parts compliance to design requirements.

  • Work with manufacturing operations groups to assure highest efficient, highest productivity and lower product cost.

  • Identify, develop and implement cost out projects.

  • Plan and execute design strategies that minimize the implementation cycle time and cost.

  • Determine product specifications and evaluates tooling and equipment according to specifications and quality standards.

  • Identify suitable materials for use in product and assure manufacturing's capability to run such material..

  • Analyze parts deviations and make proper disposition.

*Support and Comply with CI Lean, ProLaunch and EQS initiatives and policies

  • Supervise and coordinate activities with department resources in order to achieve goals and needs with engineers regarding product support

  • Build Organizational Capability through development plans, driving accountability, managing daily work activities and needs to support the PLS department."

Qualifications:

Education level required

  • BS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Years and area of experience required

  • 3 years of Engineering related experience.

Skills:

Technical knowledge

  • Tolerance analysis, engineered material selection, UL/CSA standards, Root cause analysis, engineering drawing knowledge, Change management.

Soft skills
