Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for a Night Shift Civil Engineer for a large project in Farmers Branch, TX . The Civil Engineer is on the Project Manager career-track and assists the Project Manager and Project Administrator in a variety of engineering functions identified as procurement and expediting of construction materials.
Responsibilities:
Procurement of materials
Detailed estimation of costs on proposed changes
Update of contract plans and master schedules
Overall responsibility of submittals
Responsible for tracking materials, project coordination and safety
Analyze, review and update job cost information
Process change orders as required by project owners
Manage subcontractors
Requests for information responses from owners and subcontractors
Assists in the compilation of close-out documents, including drawings, guarantees, warranties and service manuals for delivery to the owner
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred, but may be substituted by experience.
Experience with demolition, earthwork concrete paving, setting temporary concrete barrier, etc. a plus
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
Must be highly organized with an attention to detail
Be an effective communicator with strong customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED or higher
Valid driver’s license
5+ years of experience in earthwork, paving, etc. TxDOT highway work required
Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
Must be able to work one of two shifts:
Open to swing shift (noon to midnight)
Night shift (6pm – 5am)
Must be able to work on call as needed
Project will entertain rotation from days to nights every few months or similar if needed
