Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity for an Equipment Service Manager for heavy civil projects in the North Texas area. The Equipment Service Manager is responsible for maximizing the utilization of Austin Bridge and Road’s equipment across the project spectrum. Emphasis on the scheduling and allocation of equipment resources, assess project needs and requests and develop and provide optimized and low-cost solutions to meet project needs.
Responsibilities:
P & L Responsibility for ABR Equipment across a $600M+ operating landscape
Coordinate with existing equipment platform and refine and develop and implement new Infrastructure based utilization and management program
Participate in the development of capture plans with focus on equipment strategy
Coordinate with and optimize existing equipment management plan, including but not limited to service intervals, inspections, certifications, and safety bulletins associated with each specific category of heavy highway equipment
Coordinate with Project and Area Managers on a company wide basis as to the availability and or needs on all ABR Projects
Coordinate with Mechanics on each JV project site specific to Austin supplied equipment as well as equipment business opportunities
Prepare, negotiate and finalize purchase orders, master service agreements, lease agreements and rental agreements for all ABR equipment procurement
Coordinate with Project personnel and Joint Venture Partners for any equipment related activities
Manage internal rental rates, rent tracking, transfers, buying or selling, estimating and cost projections for maintenance and or repair decisions on ABR equipment
Prepare financial (with the assistance of ABR accounting) models for efficient equipment utilization
Assist Superintendents and Project and Area Managers with Operator training and mobilizations
Oversee Crane erections
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
10+ years experience in construction equipment management
Strong knowledge of construction equipment types, such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, cranes, bulldozers, etc.
Budgeting and financial management skills to handle repair costs, inventory, and service contracts.
Experience with maintenance and repair of construction equipment, including both preventative and corrective maintenance.
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of all local, state and national statutes and guidelines regarding equipment licensing, certifications, permitting and hauling
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time effective manner
Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification
Proficiency in general office software (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.) for reporting and administrative tasks
HCSS and Heavy Equipment 360 experience
Proven experience managing a service team or repair crew
Experience with procurement, terms and conditions
Valid driver’s license
Ability to travel to various project sites across the North Texas Region
Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
Must be able to work on call as needed
