Job Description
Plans, initiates, schedules, and implements all necessary collection and processing functions for payroll. Analyzes and compiles reports relating to payroll. Monitors overtime reports. Distributes all payroll checks in accordance with the department's policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
Receives, calculates, and logs in daily work attendance for sworn officers and civilians.
Makes sure all the necessary forms are signed by sworn officer and supervisor.
Calculates work attendance records that are inputted into the AS400.
Checks the Hours Proof Listing report for any errors or discrepancies when entered into the computer.
Completes payroll by the proper deadline indicated by the Finance Department.
Calculates Police officers' military, emergency, and administrative leaves.
Prepares and maintains files for periodical adjustments to the Police Officers' salaries in accordance to the Police contract which consists of the base, longevity, and additional pays according to their education.
Adjusts and maintains files of terminated, retired, or discharged employees.
Prepares sign-in sheets for every division in the Police Department for the distribution of payroll checks on the day before payday.
