TEKsystems Senior Internal Auditor in Lanham, Maryland
Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and execute financial statement audits for government agencies, municipalities, and other public entities.
Assess risks, design audit procedures, and evaluate internal controls.
Conduct substantive testing to verify financial transactions and account balances.
Conduct performance audits to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of government programs.
Job Qualifications:
5+ years of experience within government audit.
Prior experience working in a public accounting firm, public firm or consulting firm (not big 4) is essential.
Excellent experience within audit testing methods, substantive procedures, and sampling techniques.
Strong knowledge of financial statement auditing, including internal controls.
Nice to Haves:
CPA certification or equivalent.
Proficiency in GAGAS and government accounting standards.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Job Details:
Placement: 6 month contract-to-hire
Workplace: Fully Remote (East time zone 9 AM – 6 PM)
Equipment: Need to utilize own laptop
