About the Program:

The Residential Treatment Facility program is 24/7/365 and designed for adolescents ages 14 to 18 years old whose needs cannot be met in a lower level of care or in their primary home and community settings. The program will have space and resources for eight (8) adolescents. Evaluation, assessment and evidence based programming will be offered to stabilize and improve functioning. Individual and family therapy, psychiatric monitoring, educational groups and family and community engagement opportunities will be provided as interventions in the program. Treatment is individualized and builds on adolescent and family strengths, as well as principles of recovery and resiliency and trauma-informed care. The participation of families and other identified community supports is required throughout treatment.

About the Position:

As a Mental Health Worker, you will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team. The primary responsibility of the Mental Health Worker is to assist and support adolescents in achieving their optimal level of functioning while participating in the Adolescent Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) program. You will also:

  • Provide case administration to an assigned caseload.
  • Facilitate group process and activity within the program.
  • Implement interventions outlined in the individualized treatment plan.
  • Contribute to the multidisciplinary treatment team process.
  • Support the therapeutic environment by modeling skills, building relationships, and redirecting adolescents.
  • Perform clinical assessments and develops/implements treatment plans.
  • Complete quality documentation within program standards including collecting data on individual treatment plan goals.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding adolescents to family and appropriate agencies.
  • Participate in the daily operations of the program.
  • Conduct fire drills and manage emergency situations during assigned work shifts.
  • Maintain the physical environment in a manner that does not create a health or safety risk for others.
  • Assist in monitoring and/or administering medications.
  • Share in the ongoing assessment of the individual's progress.
  • Provide coverage in emergency situations or as directed by the Program Director.
  • Engage in daily interaction and communication with program participants.
  • Utilize company vehicles to transport individuals to appointments, home visits, school, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

This position requires one of the following combinations of education a d experience: 

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work, counseling, education, or a similar human service field and have at least one year of full-time, paid work experience in a job that involves direct contact with children or adolescents; OR
  • A high school diploma and more than one year of paid work experience that involves direct contact with children or adolescents.

Additional requirements include: 

  • A valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and/or transport individuals to appointments.
  • Able to work flexible hours.
