Fairfield County Social Service Worker 1 -Parenting Support Services Worker in Lancaster, Ohio
Fairfield County Job & Family Services is hiring for Social Service Worker 1 - Parenting Support 70% *Schedules and monitor's parenting time between parents and children by supervising visits according to court orders or other relevant agreements. Will provide the transportation for clients or coordinate the transportation with others to assure arrangements are made for pick-up and drop-off of a child. Provides necessary care for children when supervising the parenting time, including: Assuring children have age-appropriate necessities (diapers, formula etc.), assuring needs of the children are met during the scheduled parenting time, and always assuring safety of children in care. *20% Converse with other agencies and the public; foster parents, caseworkers, and caregivers; provide information, arrange travel, assist transporters with transfer and care of children. 10% Maintains case record documentation in SACWIS and the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) (e.g., photos, audio/video recordings, activity logs, forms, and written summaries) for supervisory approvals and agency record retention. Attend meetings and/or training; other duties as assigned by Director or designee.
Duties
The primary purpose of the Social Service Worker 1 is to provide transportation and monitoring of visits between children and families. This position will manage and schedule requests for visitation and transportation forwarded by case work staff and work with case workers, care givers, and foster families to coordinate visits.
Qualifications
- Completion of undergraduate major core coursework or two years technical training in behavioral science, social science, early childhood development technology, education or related field.
- Or four courses in behavioral science one of which must be in child development or two years' experience in behavioral science of which 6 months must be in the area of child development, one course or six months experience in business mathematics, one course or six months in experience in interviewing, one course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing.
