The Assistant Materials Planner is responsible for supporting the Purchasing department in all aspects of procurement. Perform various clerical and administrative duties to process purchase orders and related transactions. Duties include determining required materials and generating purchase orders, data entry, file maintenance and other similar duties primarily those pertaining to purchasing functions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Materials Planner is responsible for the following activities:

  • Review inventory to determine required materials to support

  • Generate Purchase orders in the ERP system and email to supplier.

  • Review acknowledgement from supplier, for any discrepancies and files with corresponding

  • Updates purchase orders for any relevant changes from the acknowledgement and notifies Material planners of changes.

  • Proactive responses to delivery changes by immediately notifying the Materials

  • Create Purchase orders for customer owned materials.

  • Creates Purchase orders for transfer of materials from offsite warehouse to UNC

  • Communicates with Production Supervisors for delivery of bulk fluid loads. Places orders and advise of any changes to the planned delivery schedule.

  • Tracking and maintaining the status of orders and reporting any delivery issues to the affected

  • Weekly reviews past due report, following up with suppliers for status of past due

  • Maintains supplier score card, enters data after each delivery.

  • Communicates Supplier score cards to suppliers at agreed frequency

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Business or Inventory management or related field with 2+ years Purchasing experience preferred.

  • APICS certification or matriculation towards certification

  • Good communication, presentation, interpersonal and listening skills.

  • Strong system and application ac Familiarity and proficiency with Aptean Ross ERP, Microsoft office suite and QlikView preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position will primarily operate in a fast-paced office environment that requires a combination of team-based work as well as in-depth individual analysis. This individual must be comfortable sitting/standing at workstation for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as computer, phone, copier...etc. Periodic travel to support customer interactions may be required.

Pay:

$21.00 - $27.00 Per Hour

Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, in addition to internal equity.
