The Manager, Facility Sustainment is responsible for leading the team of Building and Property Managers who sustain daily operations for the diverse administrative building portfolio at Walt Disney World(WDW) and the Florida site. The Building & Property Management (B&PM) portfolio consists of approximately 4.8M SF, across seven municipalities. It is inclusive of buildings, warehouses, trailers, laydown yards, production facilities, and more. You will optimize operational efficiencies across this portfolio by exhibiting a proven understanding of key performance indicators, operational metrics, and strong leadership ability. The Manager, Facility Sustainment can risk assess and quickly prioritize sustainment efforts with a sense of urgency and accountability; motivating their team to meet all operational expectations of their leadership. You will ensure safe and functional work environments, allowing Business Unit tenants to focus on their core business and to mitigate business disruption.

The Manager, Facility Sustainment reports to the Manager of Programs, Building & Property Management.

What You Will Do

  • Be responsible for compliance with the company’s safety programs and initiatives, as well as compliance with all regulatory and building code requirements for commercial spaces.

  • Lead the Property Managers to help them plan and forecast operational workloads for their teams to minimize risk specific to facility sustainment operations.

  • Model flexibility and adaptability as a leader of leaders; able to work in ambiguous situations with tenacity and perseverance to deliver legendary service.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve upon standards of daily operations and to drive and meet company objectives.

  • Be the central point of contact for sustainment and operational activities for on and off property locations.

  • Partner with leaders and peers to collaborate on and handle the operating expense budgets.

  • Manage tenant relationships and address their needs promptly and professionally.

  • Coordinate and partner on efforts supporting the Integrated Facility Planning (IFP) process.

  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Facility Asset Management(FAM), Facility Services, Safety, Security, various Environmental teams, WDW IFP Planning, various Service Vendors, and WDW Executive leadership.

  • Coordinate and implement maintenance activities for assets on property.

  • Address any unplanned maintenance work promptly and effectively to minimize disruptions.

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of all assets within the administration building.

  • Collaborate with senior management and Finance to strategize and determine the optimal timing for asset replacement.

  • Ensure the safety and functionality of building systems through regular inspections and maintenance. Supervise and coordinate teams responsible for building maintenance and operations.

  • Be responsible for soft services such as janitorial, landscaping, security, and other related services to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for occupants.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Ten (10) or more years in commercial property management or operational sustainment.

  • Solid understanding of facility mechanical and operating systems.

  • Experience leading operations, facility management, real estate, and construction/project management teams and organizations.

  • Demonstrated effective leadership experience in achieving team objectives.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in crisis management for urgent mitigation and minimizing business disruption.

  • Understanding of building systems and proactive commercial facility management.

  • Experience with business software applications and finance concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Real Estate and contract/lease administration is helpful.

  • Certifications in Facility or Property Management (e.g., BOMA-RPA or IREM-CPM Candidate) are a plus.

  • Leadership experience in operational, project, or property management (managing 700,000 square feet or more).

  • Familiarity with Walt Disney World internal departments, resources, and culture is beneficial.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university or equivalent experience
