POSITION SUMMARY

The Imports Associate is responsible for managing import logistics to ensure timely delivery and avoid stockouts.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

• Close liaison with factory end-users and strategic partners to ensure timely deliveries and avoid stockouts.

• Sharing of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery

• Obtain PFIs from suppliers and get bank contracts registered against these PFIs.

• Monitor the import of samples for testing and evaluation by the businesses.

• Ensure clear communication with all concerned stakeholders internally (all functional areas) and externally.

• Coordinate with bank to open LCs

• Coordinate with various government agencies and port authorities to ensure smooth clearance of all materials.

• Make arrangements in advance for shipment clearance.

• Monitor the performance of clearing agents and shipping lines to ensure timely deliveries of all materials and services, reducing demurrages due to delays.

• Follow up with clearing agents daily to avoid any delay in shipments.

• Ensure timely payment to suppliers/local vendors as per agreed payment terms.

• Act as a knowledge source and advisor for customs and State Bank regulations governing imports.

• Microsoft Excel skills at an intermediate level.

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders when required.
