Job Summary:

Provide general accounting support for the Record to Report Department.

This position is located in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Applicants must currently reside in the La Crosse area in order to be considered, as internships require year-round availability while attending school full time. Preferred candidates would have at two school years remaining. Hours are flexible, but student must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours a week during the school year and 40 hours per week with approved overtime during the summer and breaks.

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly journal entries

  • Balance sheet account reconciliations

  • General ledger account analysis

  • Miscellaneous projects as required

  • This may include exposure to all general accounting areas, including, billing, claims, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, costing, financial reporting and general ledger.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum sophomore, full-time student status in a 4-year program with accounting major or minor required.

  • Successful completion of, or current enrollment in, intermediate accounting is required.

  • Must be detail-conscious, responsible, dependable, and able to work well in a team environment.

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and build relationships with team personnel, Trane commercial offices, business units, and all Trane customers.

  • Must be PC literate and proficient with MS Word, Access, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Must exhibit a solid professional business image with a team player attitude

  • Ability to effectively communicate judgment decisions required.

  • The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
