Job Description Summary

As a Generator Mechanical TFA, you will main and perform mechanical technical services scope and provide on-site technical direction on Generator systems for utility and industrial power plants. You are accountable to review and maintain execution as per equipment engineering documents and work procedure, conduct troubleshooting of the plant equipment and systems, planning and organizing resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements with highest standard of safety and quality. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our GE Vernova vision and align with our organization’s purpose to electrify and decarbonize the world.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, perform generator mechanical site work.

  • Lead and provide technical direction for generator mechanical scope to other team member, including other Technical Field Advisor and craft labour in support of the outage.

  • Excellent teamwork and coordination with other internal or external personnel.

  • Ensure full understanding and implementation of site and operational activities which align to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics.

  • Positive contribution on Pre-outage planning and post-outage activities, include good documentation and on time delivery of final work report, timesheet and other work-related documentation.

  • Drive customer satisfaction in relate to field service activities and outage.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical/University degree or qualifying experience OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Field Services role.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as generator Mechanical TFA in power plant (Utility, industrial or Oil & Gas equipment maintenance or power plant equipment installation).

  • Site experience and knowledge for Generator mechanical scope: Minor inspection, Major inspection, Rotor removal and reinstallation, alignment and auxiliaries’ inspection.

  • Possess ability and knowledge to manage site work documentation ie: technical drawing, field procedure, daily report, final report and quality document.

  • Demonstrated progressive, responsible experience with various types of generator equipment and site accountabilities is required.

  • English proficiency required.

Desired Characteristics

  • Completion of Generator/Steam Turbine Technical Field Advisor (TFA) training or equivalent is preferred.

  • Site Experience on GE or Alstom generator equipment is preferred.

  • Has the knowledge and skill to oversee outage management within a competency and may possess expertise in a secondary competency. Demonstrates mentor and team advance skills.

  • Strong attitude to manage relationships with customers, concerning technical and contractual aspects.

  • Strong organizational, project management, oral/written communication and interpersonal/leadership skills.

  • Has the working knowledge of mechanical part for Steam Turbine, Valves.

  • Has the Working knowledge of dismantling, inspection and reassembly of Steam Turbine, Valves parts.
