JOB TITLE: Clinical Informatics Support Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Quality Clinical Informatics
NATURE OF POSITION: The Clinical Informatics Support Specialist is responsible for managing clinical informatics support requests for the electronic health record and triaging those requests to be assigned to a clinical informatics coordinator. This position will collaborate with the team in performing platform orientation, troubleshooting errors and issues as needed, manage and resolve support inquiries with the E.H.R. vendor, as well as communicating and reporting needs, issues and progress to the Chief Quality Officer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in a clinical field for a minimum of 2 years.
Experience with electronic health records or database records system (eClinicalWorks or similar E.H.R. preferred).
Experience with general desktop support and troubleshooting techniques in windows workstation environment.
Knowledge of public health principles and practice; primarily health data privacy and security standards.
Excellent interpersonal skills and written communication skills
Experience providing 1 on 1 and team education regarding EHR functionality preferred.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend and/or lift for extended periods of time
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with clinical informatics to provide support for the Electronic Health Record Platform for ALL sites of The Clinic
Travel as needed to meet the needs of all COFMC sites.
Remote Desktop Support and platform management relating to the EHR.
Support Information technology by triaging IT specific requests and assigning tickets to technology team.
Manage facility ticketing directly with E.H.R. vendor in collaboration with clinical informatics to obtain issue fixes as the need arises.
Remain aware of EHR updates, new functionality, and communicate upcoming changes to the team.
Basic orientation to new staff in individual job needs as it relates to the E.H.R.
Work with clinical informatics staff to gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of the E.H.R., both current and subsequent versions.
Work with the E.H.R. System Administrator in configuring and maintaining the E.H.R. platform under the supervision of the Chief Quality Officer.
Serve on Committees as requested.
Following education, provide training for new hires on EHR and Quality Documentation as assigned.
Serve as a resource and positive, proactive member of the Quality department.
Maintain effective communication with all members of the healthcare team.
All other duties as assigned by the Chief Quality Officer.
