Description

A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinic Accountant to join our Finance team. The Clinic Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, tracking expenses, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures within our healthcare and dental clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Major Job Responsibilities

  1. Financial Record Management:

  2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the healthcare and dental clinics.

  3. Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including patient billing, payments, and expenses.

  4. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data by conducting regular audits and reconciliations.

  5. Financial Reporting:

  6. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the clinics.

  7. Analyze financial data and provide insights to aid in decision-making processes.

  8. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts for the clinics.

  9. Compliance and Regulations:

  10. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and organizational policies.

  11. Prepare documentation for external audits and coordinate audit activities.

  12. Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations applicable to healthcare institutions.

  13. Budget Management:

  14. Assist in the development, monitoring, and management of clinic budgets.

  15. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support budgetary decisions.

  16. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality of care.

  17. Vendor Management:

  18. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices.

  19. Verify vendor invoices and resolve discrepancies or issues as needed.

  20. Negotiate favorable terms and agreements with vendors to optimize costs.

  21. Team Collaboration:

  22. Collaborate with clinic staff and other departments to resolve financial queries and provide necessary support.

  23. Conduct financial training sessions for clinic staff to enhance their understanding of financial processes and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit organization.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
