PACCAR Sr. Electronics Project Engineer (Multiple Positions Available) in Kirkland, Washington

Job Title: Sr. Electronics Project Engineer (Multiple Positions Available)

Job Description: Design, develop, and test electrical and electronic components and subsystems, and perform electrical integration into heavy duty vehicles. Design electronic circuits and infotainment display components for heavy-duty commercial trucks.  Integrate vehicle and drive line controls into vehicle electrical systems.  Complete engineering change notice documentation.  Plan and track validation of components.  Utilize engineering tools, including Pro-Engineer, Mentor Graphics, Matlab/Simulink, and Rhapsody.  Contribute to the design of automotive or commercial vehicle components, including software, wire harnesses, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and/or HMI.  Apply knowledge of heavy-duty commercial truck regulations affecting instrumentation, emissions, safety, On Board Diagnostics, and other areas impacting electrical/electronic design, architecture and functionality. Perform embedded real-time systems design and implementation. Position requires up to 15% domestic and international travel.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology, or a related field and 5 years progressive, post-baccalaureate automotive project engineering and functional safety experience, including at least 4 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Performing automotive project engineering and functional safety engineering coordination activities, including ISO 26262 specification related to complex infotainment display and HVAC controls, part validation, and end of line testing;
  • Product validation related activities, including hardware and mechanical validation;
  • Electronic product engineering and requirement documentation, including Parts Approval documents, Design Verification Plan and Reports, product development/manufacturing Documentation and review of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA);
  • Designing and releasing automotive engineering vehicle electrical components, including software, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and HMI;
  • Utilizing engineering tools, including Vehicle Spy Software (neoVI Fire and Vector CANoe) and Matlab/Simulink;
  • Using AUTOSAR and ISO 17987 LIN Protocol;
  • Working with automotive regulations affecting instrumentation, emissions (EMC), functional safety, On Board Diagnostics, and other areas impacting electrical/electronic design, architecture, and functionality;
  • Working with manufacturing to ensure AIAG processes are followed; and
  • Managing electronic parts-related program, including program schedule, cost, and impact on customer milestone and deliverables.

Experience may be gained concurrently.

SALARY: $110,600 to $173,000 per year. This position is eligible for a holiday gift. LOCATION:  Position with PACCAR Inc, full time, 40 hours per week, located in Kirkland, WA. Telecommuting permitted up to 20%.
