JOB SUMMARY

The IT Desktop Support Technician II, under general supervision, is responsible for receiving and responding to customer requests. This includes but is not limited to hardware, software desktops, servers, networks, and telecommunications. A Desktop Support Technician II resolves and escalates technical problems according to standard operating procedures and within defined service levels. Documents, tracks and monitors problems and resolutions to ensure timely resolution and provides training to end users.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide intermediate-level support for hardware and software problems, including diagnosing and repairing desktops, laptops, and peripherals.

  • Collaborate with Level 3 technicians to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot software applications and operating systems.

  • Support and maintain network connectivity, including wired and wireless connections.

  • Document and track all user requests and incident resolutions in a ticketing system.

  • Assist in documentation of standards and methods.

  • Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.

  • Must complete all required Astronics Training programs within a set time frame.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or associate/bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 2 years of equivalent Desktop Support experience.

  • Solid knowledge of desktop operating systems.

  • Familiarity with hardware components, network protocols, and peripheral devices.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting common software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to end-users.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • A commitment to providing outstanding customer service.

  • This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.

  • Ability and willingness for 10% travel, which may include international.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.

Base salary is $22.50 - $33.75 per hour. Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
