DESCRIPTION OF WORK The role involves conducting thorough inspections of all aspects of transportation construction projects. This includes assisting in verifying grades, elevations, structure stake-out, and roadway stake-out in collaboration with contractors and surveyors. Additionally, the position entails overseeing the proper placement of various materials like cement concrete, bituminous concrete, drainage materials, and other relevant components.

The responsibilities extend to providing compaction testing using visual non-movement methods for sub-surface strata, soils, aggregates, and similar materials. Furthermore, the individual will engage with Department personnel, federal, state, and local agencies, lawmakers, and the public to ensure the efficient management of the projects.

Moreover, the duties encompass the accurate completion of master diary entries, mathematical computations, item quantity estimates, project cost assessments, work orders, time extensions, and all necessary project documentation either manually or electronically. The role also involves assisting in resolving any field-related issues that may arise during the course of the projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work;  or Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Other Requirements:
