How You Will Make an Impact:
The Mobile Equipment Supervisor provides technical support for the safe and efficient operation of terminal and mobile equipment. Troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment and ensures maximum efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Understands process flow and evaluates ways to increase operating efficiency.
Responsibilities
Generate work orders for equipment repairs
Assign work orders and track progress
Locate and order parts
Post check to make sure parts are charged out appropriately
Check and schedule equipment for repair with operations
Manage manpower as per workload
Track and manage down units.
Locate and track completion times on outside repairs
Document and report down units
Work closely with the warehouse dept. to track ordered parts
Work with vendors to procure needed items and services.
Manage safety aspects and cleanliness in work environment
Procure tools and equipment needed for shop and safety
Mentor, train, and coach a team of 6-12 mobile equipment mechanics
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
Three plus years (3+) experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical repair
Must have experience in maintaining and repairing processing equipment and heavy equipment
Strong electronics experience with controls and drives
Sufficient education to make appropriate arithmetic equations and complete written documentation and records; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics
Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools.
Basic computer skills required to use maintenance software to track and log maintenance costs
Proficiency with Microsoft word and Excel are required
Work in this position is performed in remote locations; position subject to mandatory, regular medical screening as outlined in the company safety programs that is position related and consistent with business necessity
Able to step in for supervisor when necessary
Able to train and mentor Day Mechanic I & II
Physical Demands
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit and climb or balance
Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Shift: 5 days per week at 10 hours per day
Room and board provided at or near the location of the job
Must be able to tolerate working conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat
