Land O'Lakes Inc. Sanitation Supervisor in Kent, Ohio

Sanitation Supervisor The Sanitation Supervisor position leads as a quality champion for the plant. The position is responsible for collaboration with the operations team and employees to ensure we are properly cleaning production equipment and the production environment. The position is also responsible for collaborating with external regulators and service providers to ensure adherence to our quality requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Ensure adherence to cleaning procedures, good manufacturing practices, and regulatory requirements. Coaching employees as needed to ensure compliance with sanitation programs and the Global Food Safety Standards. Other responsibilities include:

  • Assist the management team in the maintenance of the quality system.
  • Support Kent policies, procedures, specifications, HACCP, standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct internal plant audits.
  • Coordinate with Operations Department for the Cleaning Schedule
  • Evaluate SSOP's, Cleaning Processes, and CIP Systems
  • Monitor Environmental Results
  • Report results and Direct Corrective Actions
  • Liaison during USDA Surveys and State Inspections
  • Partner with QA Supervisor and QA Manager for CAPA and Root Cause Analysis
  • Responsible for Sanitation, Pest Control, and Allergen EQMS Requirements
  • Monitoring and inspecting process equipment during cleaning activities.
  • Be an active participant on our HACCP Team.
  • Assist the QA Manager in measuring and monitoring key performance indicators as well as contributing data, background and insight into those metrics.
  • Have daily interaction with the USDA and, on a lesser frequency, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, FDA, etc.

Experience-Education (Required):

  • We are seeking a B.S. in Biology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, Microbiology or related technical field.
  • The ideal individual possesses 3 plus years of proven leadership skills and experience managing people including employee development.
  • 3 plus years' experience in Food/Dairy manufacturing environment.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

  • Must be skilled in identification of "Root Cause" analysis; demonstrate ability to lead and drive change with peers, as well as line employees; excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to teach, coach, and implement quality programs.
  • Able to effectively communicate and positively interact at the line and plant management levels; and set and maintain high goals and standards of performance for self, peers, direct reports, and the plant.

Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

  • This role requires strong analytical problem-solving skills, working knowledge and statistics, and process improvement, a clear understanding of HACCP, quality programs, and Global Food Safety initiatives.
