Salary:

 $45,599 - $64,319 (actual salary will be determined by internal equity and commensurate with background of selected candidate).

Basic Function:

To provide business and financial support to a director, chair, or department head of a moderate-size department or unit.

Additional Basic Function -- if applicable:

Work closely with the chair to develop the operating budget.  Oversee millions of dollars of purchases through grants for research supplies and reconcile multiple budgets.  Supervise our Purchasing Specialist.  Review, approve, analyze, audit, and prepare financial records, reports, etc., and execute procedures to ensure departmental adherence to KSU policies.

Examples of Duties:

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Perform business support functions (e.g., purchasing, records management, grants management, budget preparation, etc.). Compile and report financial information. Maintain and balance accounts. Correspond with other University departments and outside entities on matters related to business operations. Utilize and maintain automated reporting systems. Investigate problems, reconcile solutions, and prepare replies. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Or a combination of education, training and experience equivalent to an Associate degree in business plus 10 years of progressively responsible experience in monitoring budgets and reconciling accounts in a multi-department or complex business environment.

Communicate effectively with all components of the University and external constituents; manage people and projects

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
