ID 2024-2618 Category I&C Position Type Full-Time Overview ENERCON is seeking a Senior Digital Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer / Specialist. This role centers on preparing Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to upgrade analog-based I&C systems to modern computer-based ones. Responsibilities include developing documentation, test plans, and specifications, performing engineering analysis, reviewing OEM technical documentation, and providing estimates for budgeting. This role will also provide the opportunity to participate in project meetings to foster relationships and ensure timely execution of engineering activities while mastering regulatory requirements and industry standards for digital I&C systems. Responsibilities Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Senior Digital Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer / Specialists for all of our office locations, we may be open to remote for the right candidate. Prepare Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components ECP preparation includes: develop/revise associated documentation (e.g., specifications, system descriptions, cabinet/panel layout diagrams, wiring/cable termination diagrams, bill of materials (BOM), part lists, vendor instruction manuals, operations manuals, etc.) Prepare test plans and detailed test instructions Perform engineering calculations and analysis (e.g., Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Qualitative Assessments (evaluate reliability of computer-based systems), response time analysis, instrument setpoint and uncertainty calculations, instrument drift analysis, etc.) Develop specifications and functional requirements for procurement of computer-based I&C systems Perform review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development Participate in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships Plan and implement the timely execution of assigned engineering activities Become proficient in the application and use of the regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to digital I&C systems Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (BSCSE), or related field in Engineering Minimum of 7 years of I&C engineering experience, with significant experience with computer-based platforms in the nuclear industry (preferred) Minimum of 5 years of experience with development of test plans and detailed test instructions Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades (types of upgrades include replacement of Turbine/Generator Control Systems with DCS platforms, process computer, and cyber security systems) Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms, such as: Central Processing Units (CPUs), Input/Outp
