Position Title: Paraprofessional Program: TC Futures Center/ Open Doors Reports To: TC Futures Director Classification: Non-Exempt (Full-Time / Mon-Fri / 40hrs per week) Hourly Rate: Grade 23: $22.52 (step 1/year 1) -- 25.35 (step 5/year 5) SUMMARY: This position requires bilingual and biliterate skills in English and Spanish. Under the general supervision of the Director and Open Doors Teacher, the paraprofessional supports individual and group instruction for TC Futures students, reinforces previously taught skills, and assists with testing services. This role also helps with daily center activities, enforces rules, and maintains program standards. Additionally, the paraprofessional provides ESL support, including language assessments and Spanish translation for parent communications, while ensuring accurate data entry and confidentiality. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support teachers and case managers in designated instructional areas by reinforcing previously taught skills, working with small groups to provide additional instruction or assistance.
- Engage with students, encourage performance, observe progress, and meet instructional reinforcement needs as they arise.
- Administer tests necessary to identify Limited English Proficient (LEP) students and to determine their level of language proficiency as determined by the state.
- Implement lesson plans for individuals and groups under the supervision of the assigned teacher.
- Learn and understand the adopted curriculum and methodologies to support academic performance.
- Attend training and other functions as assigned including conducting off-site visits.
- Assist with evaluating and sourcing English as a Second Language (ESL) materials.
- Assist with the procurement and utilization of instructional aids.
- Assess, reassess, and reclassify students periodically to monitor progress and evaluate areas for academic and English support.
- Meet with staff or other professionals to review program materials, or student progress.
- Provide Spanish translation support as needed.
- Communicate with Spanish speaking parents/guardians, orally and in writing. Act as interpreter/translator for conferences, family/supporter meetings and written communications.
- Administer and proctor exams offered at TC Futures including but not limited to High School Equivalency, Paraprofessional and other district required testing.
- Record and input test results into the computer database, ensuring confidentiality
- Follow all applicable Board policies and procedures.

Hold a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one fo the following:
Have received a passing grade on the Education Training Services (ETS) ParaPro Assessment; OR
Have completed a registered apprenticeship program; OR
Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at an institution of higher education; OR
Hold an Associate of Arts degree or higher.
