Job Description

The Plant Human Resources Generalist will be directly responsible for overseeing the day to day HR activities in our Kankakee, IL plant. This position will also assist with administrative requirements to support plant operations. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

*This role is based in Kankakee, IL (this is not remote position.)

WHEN YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL

  • Provide exceptional service

  • Partner in the effective execution of the plant strategies to meet business goals, and provide feedback and support on all employee related issues at the site

  • Advise employees and management personnel on the interpretation of Company policies, programs and procedures

  • Responds to all internal and external HR inquiries at the plant

  • Works with plant leaders to resolve minor employee issues and conflict resolution

  • Will develop and propose improvements to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of the human resources administration practice and safety

  • Work with Corporate Benefits to ensure delivery of benefits for eligible employees in the plant.

  • Manage claims administration including Workers Compensation, Short Term Disability and the Return to Work programs

  • Maintains employee related records within the Workday system

  • Accountable for full-cycle recruiting and on-boarding of hourly employees

  • Oversee Kronos timekeeping and assists with payroll administration

  • Coordinates all site recognition and social events

  • Assist the Plant HSE with administrative duties

  • Other projects and/or duties as may be assigned

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor's Degree required and a minimum of 5 years in Human Resources within a manufacturing environment

  • Professional designation in Human Resources is preferred

  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities in an environment of rapid change

  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment, industrial labor relations, and occupational safety legislation

  • Exposure to payroll processes and practices

  • The ability to organize the workload and manage multiple tasks effectively

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products

  • Familiarity with HRIS, time and attendance systems (Workday and Kronos highly preferred)
