Job Summary

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of all process activities. You will work closely with all departments involved in the process, including engineering, operations, and procurement.

Act as business partner to the site/entity manufacturing process managers and leadership in assuring and improving the manufacturing processes and product/service quality performance.

To provide Internal (1st Party) audit capability for the assessment of the manufacturing processes and products/services, ensuring process compliance, robustness and effectiveness in relation to the Customer requirements, quality needs and expectations. To plan, host and support external (customer, regulatory and other 3rd parties) audits.

To report & ensure conclusion on non-compliances, as well as highlighting improvement & best practice sharing opportunities and help drive a value added, continual improvement culture through the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the delivery of the manufacturing process/product audit objectives (when acting as the Lead Auditor), ensuring adequate preparation for the conduct of the audit criteria against the local audit plan;

  • Within the specific audit criteria for gathering of appropriate audit evidence, recommendations and thus preparing the audit and distributing the audit report and conducting the audit follow up;

  • For the evaluation of the audit evidence, non-conformities recommendations / opportunities for improvement and for the communication of subsequent recommendations, including risk identification to the Quality & Safety Manager;

  • Provide planning and hosting of external 2nd and 3rd party audits including support to follow up activity support (e.g RCCA/NCR/OASIS) integrity management.

  • Perform all warranty investigations for products related to various departments for internal & external escapes. Investigate warranty cases, using relentless rootcause analysis and addressing it using tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone, Fault tree, etc

  • Manage calibration program at GKN.

  • Conduct and audit/ review First Article Inspection (FAI) for new capability development (build up, maintain, wind down) for Component Maintenance

  • Develop and implement quality management systems and procedures for the MRO department, aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Conduct audits and inspections of processes and documentation to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards.

  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative measures.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

  • Provide technical support to technicians and engineers on quality-related matters.

  • Prepare and maintain quality records, documentation, and reports.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within the Aerospace industry.

  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, AS9100, or other relevant standards.

  • Ability to investigate and resolve quality issues effectively.

  • Work well under limited supervision and able to make fact based decisions

  • The ability to read, write and understand English is a pre-requisite

  • Knowledgeable on EASA, FAA, CAAM regulations

  • Lead auditor in ISO 9001 as a minimum requirement.
