FM Marketing Internship in JOHNSTON, Rhode Island

Summary:

FM is hiring a Marketing Intern to join our team full-time for Summer 2025! This is a great opportunity for students who are motivated to apply their classroom experience, professional attitude and personal ambition.

Through FM’s the Marketing Internship program, you will gain real-world experience in a marketing communications environment. Students work with the Strategic Communications team to develop and distribute corporate messaging to clients, prospects and the news media via a variety of channels.

Location:

This is an in-office based position that will require you to be on-site at our corporate headquarters in Johnston, RI, which is part of the greater Providence area. With a large college-age population, Providence offers a vibrant arts and entertainment scene that includes local theatre and music, collegiate and minor league sporting events, great restaurants – and we’re not far from the beautiful RI beaches!

Schedule:

The internship length is flexible, running between 10-12 weeks between May through August 2025. The Marketing Intern must be able to work 37.5 hours per week. Potential opportunity for part time work throughout the school year but this remains to be determined with the leadership team.

The Marketing Intern may be eligible for college credit for this internship, depending on their university and curriculum requirements.

 Assisting with the development of a variety of marketing and public relations content

 Supporting external communications efforts by conveying the organization’s corporate objectives and key differentiators

 Providing communications support to special projects and business units as needed

 Assisting with the maintenance of the Marketing intranet home page

 Researching various topics

 Proofreading copy for various media

 Supporting employee and external communication efforts to nonprofits, NGOs and other similar organizations

 Providing communications and event planning

 Completing administrative tasks as needed

Required Education:

 Entering junior or senior year and enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in marketing, public relations, journalism, English or communications

 Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher

Required Skills:

 Be motivated, dedicated, organized, reliable and ready to work in a professional environment

 Have top-notch writing and interpersonal skills

 Have an ability to work independently and/or with others

 Microsoft Suite skills (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint in particular)
