Our Johnson City, TN location is looking for someone to join our team as a Janitorial Maintenance Technician, working M-F 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Scope

This position performs a variety of janitorial and facility maintenance functions ranging from cleaning the facility to minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Janitorial

  • Check/empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility daily.

  • Clean windows and doors.

  • Clean/refresh listed areas periodically as defined in cleaning schedule:

  • Smoking area – Daily

  • Main entrance – Daily

  • Break Room – Periodically during lunch periods

  • Facility – Periodically throughout day

  • Aisleways on Production and Distribution Floors – Sweep daily

  • Non-routine emergency cleaning as needed.

  • Run errands as needed, which include retrieving and delivery raw materials.

  • Maintain the supply and equipment needed for cleaning duties.

  • Follow health and safety regulations.

Maintenance

  • Inspection of property and performing maintenance duties such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging toilets and minor plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs.

  • Perform minor preventative maintenance on facility equipment.

  • Depending on the needs of the company, the employee may be entrusted with and asked to perform other tasks related to his/her competence.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work and education combined experience.

Years and Type of Experience

One year expereince in related field

Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities

  • Ability to logon to computer and use basic application like email.

  • Basic written and oral literacy skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be detailed oriented.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Basic mathematical application knowledge.

  • Capable of using assorted hand tools.

  • Good knowledge of safety practices as well as experience working with / handling chemicals (hazardous and non-hazardous).

  • Ability to operate Power Industrial Trucks.
