Chart Industries Product Manager Mechanised Cutting /PPE & Gas Equipment in Johannesburg, South Africa

ESAB South Africa, a division of Howden MEA is looking for a Product Manager Mechanised Cutting, PPE & Gas Equipment to manage, promote, support and sell the organisation’s mechanized cutting, PPE, Accessories & Gas equipment, products and services within the region to assist in meeting sales targets. Manage the development of markets and segments within the region. Manage the on-site marketing activities such as open days, show days, etc.

What needs to be done?

  • Promote and develop new products within existing and new businesses and markets

  • Establishes and maintains sales relationships with major accounts/customers

  • Performing selected process validations to support ESAB’s bid when tendering on projects

  • Technical and product range manage, promote, and support gas equipment &cutting, products, and services

  • Facilitate education sessions for customers and staff and create a series of support documentation and electronic presentations

  • Comply with ISO9001, OCHSA 18001 and ISO14001

  • Lead the safety effort and awareness within the area of responsibility

  • Routinely conduct safety observations and highlight any non-conformances

  • Manage the new market and business development activities within new and existing segments to generate new growth

  • Adhere to all SOX Compliance Controls with reverence to the narratives applicable to your area of responsibility

What do you need to bring?

  • Degree/ Diploma in Engineering or related field.

  • 5 years proven experience within a related field.

  • 5 years of technical sales experience in a similar discipline.

  • Practical understanding of welding and cutting products.

  • Proficient in SAW, MIG, TIG, PLASMA mechanized process control.

  • Communication skills (Oral and Written)-Capable of facilitating education sessions for groups of people.

  • Influencing and selling skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects.
