Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) in Jersey City, New Jersey

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) team. This team owns the north star product vision, roadmap and software development for a suite of services that make up our GRC product offering for Amazon internal use. In this role you will work directly with internal customers, stakeholders and the engineers in the software development team to define and deliver features. You will participate in goal and roadmap planning and drive end to end delivery with well defined project plans. You will promote agile best practices in software development and delivery. You will participate in and often times drive technical design discussions and make the right design tradeoffs to balance business requirements with engineering deliverables. You will ensure delivery risks are identified and addressed and use the right escalation channels to bubble up issues. You will drive monthly and quarterly business reviews with stakeholders and leadership.

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills coupled with program management skills, be highly collaborative, globally minded and have a high level of customer focus. You should be a fast learner who works well with others in a dynamic, ambiguous environment. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop and own program vision and timelines, and gain buy-in for that vision across senior leadership.

• Develop program governance, communication, roadmaps, and milestones.

• Collate requirements from multiple customers into a single program and roadmap.

• Lead program management and engineering efforts for the design, development and launch of new products.

• Work across cross-functional project teams to enable the successful program launches.

• Own business reviews and communication plans that include regular reviews and progress updates with customers and leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Bachelors Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
