The Controls Lead for Services Technology manages multiple teams through other managers. The incumbent has an in-depth understanding of Services Technology organization, objectives, processes, risks and controls. The position is a key contributor to achieving the objectives of the function.

A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of Services Technology combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary including with regulators, external auditors and other lines of defence. Responsible for executing functional strategy of Technology Controls in the context of Services Technology. Determines approach to implementing Technology Risk Management and Controls strategy. Accountable for end results, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations. May be involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. This role directly reports to Controls Lead for Services, Markets and Banking/Client Technology teams and functions as an integral member of the functional leadership team within a country/site location, job family, or line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead and motivate a large, diverse team of Technology risk and control professionals based in multiple locations globally.

  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies and articulate Citi's position to Senior Management. This includes providing ongoing updates to Chief Risk Officer's, Product Managers and Sr. Management related to trends, forecast, performance and opportunities.

  • Be a trusted advisor and central point of contact for senior stakeholders within and outside of Services Technology including Services business and operations.

  • Manage core 1LoD programs including Manager’s Control Assessment, Technology Risk Appetite and Risk Management Program,

  • Works with stakeholders to drive remediation of Issues and CAPs, product Executive analysis including interpretations and solutions. Also, support execution of new activity reviews and externally required attestations.

  • Build a strong controls partnership with other controls functions, lines of defense, technology and businesses.

  • Oversee monitoring of new/changed regulations as they impact Services Technology and implement solutions where required.

  • Partner with central teams and stakeholders to manage Operational Risk Events, Lessons Learned and Escalations.

  • Manage an extensive program of reviews from 2/3Lines of Defence, KPMG and Regulators.

  • Drive communication and solutioning through Risk Forums at various levels of executive management.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years experience in financial services and/or risk and control.

  • A strong understanding and experience of risk management and control frameworks as applicable to technology and/or business operations.

  • Experience managing teams with broad accountability in a complex environment. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization Ability to balance strategic priorities with tactical actions Proven track record and accountability in making quick decision that have an immediate impact on business financials .

  • Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
