This position is tasked with overseeing Jefferson County\'s risk management and safety programs. You\'ll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, minimizing hazards, and mitigating potential financial and legal risks. Ultimately, your work will directly contribute to the well-being of our employees and residents, making Jefferson County a safer place to live and work. WHAT YOU WILL DO Identify and assess financial, safety, and security risks for the County. Analyze the probability and impact of these risks on operations, crafting strategies to manage them effectively while considering costs and benefits. Design and maintain safety programs tailored to each department\'s requirements. Ensure all safety programs comply with current health and safety laws and industry norms. Develop comprehensive training materials covering workplace ergonomics, hazardous material handling, and fire safety among other areas. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor\'s degree in Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Enviornmental Health, Business Analytics, or related field. Two to three year of experience and or training in risk management or safety roles. Valid driver\'s license and ability to pass a drivers license. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Four to six years of related experience or training in risk management or safety roles, preferably in a governmental or similar organizational setting.
