Shop Mechanic/Service Technician - Job Description
General Description Performs skilled manual labor involving the maintenance and repairs of ambulances, and optional equipment, to ensure their safe and proper operation.
Example of Duties
- Inspects equipment for needed repairs and routine service maintenance.
- Provides service on all company vehicles.
- Provides service preparations/maintenance/repairs on all ambulances and optional equipment.
- Documents accurate records of all maintenance and repairs.
- Test drives ambulances in a safe manner.
- Compliance with applicable law, policies, and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic mechanical skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment used in shop area.
- Ability to perform detailed work in shop.
Minimum RPS Hiring Standards Technical or vocational degree; or a high school diploma or GED and one year mechanical experience or training.
