Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for a Solutions Architect to lead and manage the design of comprehensive technology solutions for medium to large scale projects following an agile SDLC. The Solutions Architect will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements, assess existing systems, and develop strategic plans to deliver scalable and sustainable solutions.

This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and technical requirements

• Act as a technical liaison between clients, service engineering teams and support

• Design end-to-end solutions that align with client goals, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies

• Create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), estimates, resource allocations, and milestones

• Create detailed architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans

• Provide guidance and support to development teams throughout the project lifecycle

• Conduct technical reviews and ensure adherence to architectural standards and design principles

• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring successful project delivery

• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance our solutions and share amongst the CGI solutions architect community

• Offer recommendations for improvements in systems, applications, processes, and solving problems that may arise during the SDLC

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required. Clearance needed post-employment

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

• Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or similar role, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects

• Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable and sustainable solutions

• Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and related services

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders

• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically

• Strong written communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

• CompTIA Security Plus certification

• Experience with Docker or related container technologies

• Experience with PostgreSQL

• Experience with event-driven architecture and CQRS (EventstoreDB)

• Experience with messaging (MSMQ, RabbitMQ)

• Experience with IoT devices (Raspberry PI, Arduino, IoT sensors)

• Experience with distributed cache (Redis)

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $85,800.00 - $190,100.00.
