Six Flags Great Adventure (SFGA) is looking to fill Lifeguard positions at amusement park: 1 Six Flags Blvd, Jackson, NJ 08527. Temp, FT; approx 100 jobs for employment 5/15/24 to 10/2/24. Phone: (732) 928-2000.
Supervise & provide surveillance of swimmers & guests during park hrs, special events, & training sessions. Respond to emergencies perform varying rescues to keep guests safe. Act as 1st responder to keep guests safe. Maintain life-saving skills, test ready level at all times. Safely & efficiently operate water attractions. Provide guests w safe & enjoyable water park experience. Politely enforce rules & regs of waterpark. Keep park patios & midways clean & looking great. Safely & efficiently operate water attractions. Give safety spiels to guests on proper rider posture & water park rules/policies. Assist guests in & out of rafts & cycle through line safely & efficiently. Calculate proper dispatch interval between riders.
Offering 35 hours per week; 8a 2a at $15.72/hr. Days/Shifts vary. Flexible schedule, incl weekends & holidays. Up to 15 hours OT available/ week, as needed; no guarantee. OT at $23.58/hr if work greater than 40 hrs in any week. Employer reserves right to pay higher wage rate/bonus to worker, in their sole discretion, based on perf, skill, tenure, experience. 1st 3 weeks emplmt at least 35+ hours paid OTJ training.
Job Requirements: No training, educ or exp req. Pre-emplmt backgrd check req at employer expense. Complete & maintain Ells and Assoc Training. SFGA provide all cert training. Pass certification w 100% accuracy. Understand basic rescue techniques, 1st aid, CPR.
Must pass pre-requisite skills: Swim 50 yds, retrieve 10lb brick from depth of 5ft, & swim dist of 10 ft underwater for Shallow Water Lic. Complete shallow water test AND Swim dist of 200 yds, retrieve 10lb brick from depth of 7ft, & tread 2 min w/o hands for Deep Water License. Excellent verbal communic skills. Transportation: If worker completes 50% work contract period, employer will reimburse worker for transportation & subsistence from recruitment place to place of work.
Upon completion of work contract/ where worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide/pay for worker's reas costs of return transp & subsistence home or to the place worker originally departed to work, except where worker will not return due to subsequent employment w/ another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. Amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to most economical & reasonable common carrier for distances involved.
Daily subsistence provided at rate of $15.88/day during travel to maximum of $59.00/day w/ receipts. Housing: Optional Employer Housing provided to worker for $100/wk. Tools, supplies & equipment: Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform job.
A single workweek will be used for computing wages due & workers will be paid every 2 wks. Employer will make all payroll deductions required by law & will not make any deductions, which are not required by law. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing & other related fees including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees), incurred by the H-2B worker.
