Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
Set up and operate CNC lathes/mills to perform machining operations such as turning, boring, threading, facing, and more on various materials including cast iron, stainless steel, brass, bronze, carbon steels, plastic, and Teflon. Follow specifications, tooling instructions, and machining procedures diligently. Read prints and factory work orders to understand the requirements such as dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cuts. Position and secure tooling set-up, insert workpieces appropriately, and select the method of holding workpieces. Adjust controls to set cutting speed, feed rate, and tool position in relation to the workpiece. Verify the machined workpiece for correct specifications using measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other tools. Obtain first piece inspection approval, maintain the machine by keeping it clean and lubricated, and ensure a tidy work area. Adhere to safety policies and report any unsafe conditions.
