Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Itasca, Illinois

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in the retail industry. This role is based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, United States. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for managing customer contacts and vendor portals to collect amounts due, managing all functional aspects of credit and collections, evaluating account chargebacks and deductions, and collaborating with various teams as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Utilizing customer contacts and vendor portals to collect amounts due from customers

• Managing all functional aspects of credit and collections for sales to third-party distributors

• Making daily contacts via vendor portal, emails, and calls to customers

• Evaluating account chargebacks and deductions and working with Sales and Operations teams as needed

• Crediting accounts with accurate coding for approved deductions and collecting for unapproved chargebacks/deductions

• Performing customer account reconciliations with thorough explanations

• Providing credit hold information to the Sales team

• Collaborating with Finance on accrual for retroactive rebates and allowances

• Pursuing continuous improvements of processes, such as collaborating with operations on logistics process improvements

• Reviewing accounts receivable aging routinely and providing past-due updates to management through monthly reporting and on an as-needed basis.

This role requires skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Cash Applications, Cash Collections, Commercial Collections, Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.

Requirements • Proficiency in account reconciliation with attention to detail

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Familiarity with billing procedures and practices

• Ability to handle cash applications and cash collections effectively

• Experience with commercial collections and understanding of related legal regulations

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Experience working with Oracle for financial management

• Knowledge of QuickBooks for accounting and financial tasks

• Familiarity with SAP for enterprise resource planning

• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and team members

• Problem-solving skills and ability to handle financial discrepancies

• High level of organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Basic understanding of retail industry dynamics.
