As an expert in this critical role, you will manage a team of technical experts who ensure we have the advanced network diagnostics and assurance tools needed to deliver and support reliable networks and exceptional services across all our products, setting us apart from other providers.

Managing a team of subject matter experts, you will be accountable for defining and driving the future network assurance strategy for Openreach. This encompasses network monitoring, incident management, and communications without customers and CS, spanning network OSS, BSS, engineering apps, and test infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Openreach’s owner for network assurance capabilities across all products.

  • Develop and embed a coherent network assurance strategy across Openreach for all products (FTTC, FTTP, Ethernet and Optical) spanning network, systems, and engineering tools.

  • Work with matrix teams and stakeholders to drive the network assurance strategy including business case development and tracking.

  • Lead, develop and coach a team of subject matter experts to deliver their diagnostics, tools, data, and assurance plans.

  • Deliver value and savings for Openreach and its customers by ensuring the right decisions are made for addressing network and customer issues.

Essential Skills:

  • Working knowledge of networks, passion for network technology and delivering customer outcomes

  • Experience in strategic thinking and developing & implementing technical strategies.

  • Working with matrix teams and vendors to deliver transformational technology.

  • Leading engineering/ technical projects/programmes.

  • Stakeholder management and storytelling

  • Ability to work at all levels of the business.

Desirable Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of network-based test approaches and use of data for fault / incident identification.

  • Member of a professional body e.g. Institution of Engineering and Technology

  • An innovator, come up with new ways of working and introducing new technology.
