We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced High School Math Teacher to join our team at The Match High School and Career Center for the 2025-2026 school year.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate for the Math Teacher position will have a strong background in mathematics education, a passion for student learning, and the ability to engage students in meaningful mathematical concepts. This position requires an active teaching license, successful completion of a background check, and at least two years of teaching experience.
Key Responsibilities
These are the key responsibilities of a Math Teacher. Teachers may have other duties as assigned.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in alignment with state and district curriculum standards.
Teach various math courses, including Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and/or other assigned subjects.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support student success.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.
Utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student learning.
Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and classroom behavior.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and expectations.
Participate in professional development, department meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
Uphold school policies, ethics, and professional standards at all times.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure: Must hold a valid state teaching license in Mathematics for secondary education.
Experience: Minimum of two years of teaching experience required, preferably in high school.
Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check prior to employment.
Strong knowledge of high school mathematics curriculum and instructional best practices.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AP Math courses, dual enrollment, or honors-level instruction.
Familiarity with differentiated instruction and special education accommodations.
Coaching or extracurricular leadership experience is a plus.
