Lilly Associate Director - Global M&Q Finance - Capital Controls and Audit in Indianapolis, Indiana

This Associate Director Manufacturing Finance position within the corporate manufacturing finance team focuses on global capital controls and capital auditing for global manufacturing. The position is responsible for establishing and implementing audit processes for major capital projects including controls checks and invoice review of these projects. This will require being responsible for third party audits of major projects and establishing ongoing capital audit processes for real time assessment and monitoring of spend. The position requires strong controls and audit approach, a steadfast focus on process improvements and efficiency, and the ability to influence others. The position requires driving standard work process, centralized execution, and improved controls across capital items while seeking ways to streamline and automate the processes as well.

Some Responsibilities in the role:

Major capital audits

  • Develop audit plan, in coordination with Corporate Audit Services (CAS) and our external auditors, for reviewing compliance to policies on major capital projects, including new sites

  • Benchmark with external companies on capital audit and controllership processes and controls

  • Coordinate with Global Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) owners and Global Business Solutions (GBS) centers to ensure robust controls for major capital projects

  • Train project managers and local finance teams on appropriate financial policies

  • Complete ad hoc audits of expenditures

  • Act as liaison between CAS and external auditors on controls related to capital and new sites

  • Develop process for real time and ongoing audits, including the use of technology or leveraging GBS centers

Controls Processes

  • Lead and influence as global process owner/expert and provide continuous data gathering and learning on process execution for capital controls across the global manufacturing sites and central Manufacturing & Quality (M&Q)

  • Develop and train new sites on appropriate capital control practices

  • Assess new technologies and fact patterns for possible control issues

  • Engage with and influence Financial Controls Organization (FCO), CAS, and our external auditors on process improvements, control documentation and audit matters/findings with respect to capital and capital assets

Broader Support to Manufacturing Financial Organization

  • Contribute to and/or lead financial projects/analyses in support of the broader organization e.g., special projects, business development and Lean.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar area with six (6) years of finance related experience

OR

  • MBA/Masters with three (3) years of finance or related experience

Additional Preferences:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Demonstrated process improvement mentality

  • Accounting certifications

  • Knowledge of SAP, Business Objects, Power BI
