Description
We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this role, you will be pivotal in managing and overseeing the accounts payable process within our organization. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records, processing invoices, and managing vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership to the accounts payable team, offering guidance and mentorship
• Develop and implement effective policies and procedures to streamline the accounts payable process
• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of invoices, expense reports, and payment runs
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate payment terms to optimize cash flow
• Liaise with internal departments to communicate updates about accounts payable
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in the accounts payable process
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations, tax requirements, and company policies
• Oversee the monthly accounts payable close process, ensuring accurate reconciliation and reporting
• Handle inquiries regarding accounts and payment issues
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement technology solutions for better efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP).
• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and systems.
• Proven ability to manage and supervise a team effectively.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
• Experience with accounting software.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
