Position Title: Project Engineer Sr.

Work Location: Site- IWTU

Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4x10s

Salary Grade: 18 Salary Range: Min: \$104,970 Mid: \$131,060 Max: \$164,125

Position Purpose:

Responsible for all aspects of overseeing a team of Project Managers to execute facility modifications, sub-contracted vendor support, outage planning activities and construction projects at IWTU.

This position is responsible for planning projects from beginning to end, including but not limited to: schedule development for the project activities; the determination of resources and budget needs to complete the identified work. They will also develop Detailed Cost Estimate Sheets for Task Orders, Variance Analysis Reports, provide performance forecasting for Control Account level budgets.

Manage Outage scope and schedule to ensure that IWTU accurate forecasts for processing Sodium Bearing Waste are able to be developed.

Candidate must be able to,

  • Analyze variances and take effective corrective actions to meet project cost and schedule commitments.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and present complex topics in a concise but comprehensive manner.
  • Work independently with very little instruction or supervision.
  • Take on challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
  • Understand processes needed to accomplish project tasks, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in the discussions and decision making that drives a project to success.
  • Review bidder proposals, data submittals, work documents, etc. to provide comments as necessary.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience):

Bachelor\'s Degree in an Engineering or related discipline with +5 years Project Management experience.

Experience in performing Control Account Manager (CAM) duties is preferred.

Experience managing projects for the Department of Energy.

Earned Value Management experience.

Special Requirements/Training:

Strong working knowledge of DOE program requirements. It is preferrable to have experience working with other DOE programs or other industries heavily regulated by the Federal Government. Knowledge of project management and project control system methodologies. Experience in leading and working in an integrated project team.

Position Responsibilities:

Management and tracking of milestones and overall project cost.

Develop, analyze, and manage project estimates and schedules.

Management of financial analysis and report generation.

Supervise Project Manager\'s, review schedules and project documents.

Ensure proper closeout of project complete.
