The Microsoft C+E Enterprise Commerce Studio is looking for a passionate and self-motivated UX researcher to help shape the future of intelligence-driven experience across the Microsoft Commerce ecosystem.    

Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) is responsible for enabling and optimizing the end-to-end customer journey on the Microsoft Cloud. As the CFS Enterprise Commerce team, we are responsible for delivering a state of art experience to our customers, partners, sellers and support teams across all enterprise business transactions. Responsibilities

As a UX researcher on our team, you will be responsible for collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, designers, product managers and engineers to drive user feedback and research findings into future iterations of the product. You will also have a role in mentoring junior team members and building relationship with business and engineering stakeholders to influence product roadmap

In this role you will be expected to employ a wide range of research methodologies including moderated and unmoderated usability studies, interviews, surveys, competitive benchmarks, A/B testing, ethnographic field research, participatory designs, user modeling, etc.  You will also have an opportunity to innovate on new methods, and practices that contribute to our UX community. Ultimately, we’re looking for someone to help actively evolve the discipline while influencing the product teams to make impactful, data-driven decisions and who can:  

  • Deeply understand the needs, behaviors and scenarios of Microsoft 365 products.   

  • Have a strong sense of human-centered design and how to apply it in practice.   

  • Build and execute research plan(s) that provide deep customer insights needed to impact our roadmap.   

  • Collaborate with design, research, program management, and engineering teams to deliver valuable end-to-end user experiences across multiple screens and input modalities.   

  • Drive insights effectively through the software development process, partnering with stakeholders and other disciplines.

Communicate the research findings and recommendations to the product team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).

  • Experience leading projects, teams and products end-2-end with multidisciplinary partners. 

  • Interaction design skills with the ability to design quality graphical user interfaces. 

  • Current understanding of modern technology, know the constraints, be willing to push the limits and apply creative solutions that result in great user experience. 

  • Ability to prototype design concepts in a variety of tools

  • Ability to produce elegant and easily understood diagrams, wireframes, and other artifacts

  • Experience in AI or Large Language Models (LLM)

  • Experience participating in the complete product development lifecycle of web and/or software applications

  • Ability to present cohesive design approaches to a non-design audience (including business, product and technology teams)

  • Ability to create information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes and screen flows

  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills that drive compelling conversations and clear design presentations.  

  • Ability to create a variety of design artifacts that elegantly convey ideas, workflows, and concepts. 

  • Ability to work independently through ambiguous situations, and in undefined product areas and features.  

  • Ability to scope and estimate efforts accurately and prioritize tasks and goals independently.  

  • Ability to inspire, lead and make a difference

  • Demonstrated UX design experience
