Description

We are offering an opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team in Huron, South Dakota. This role is crucial in leading our day-to-day finance operations and strategic financial planning functions. The CFO will be responsible for managing financial records, analyzing financial data, preparing budgets, and ensuring all compliance regulations are met.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.

• Prepare and analyze financial data, including all inventory, product costing, and profitability.

• Develop, monitor, and analyze budgets, providing financial input and support in preparation of the strategic plan and forecast.

• Administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.

• Collaborate with General Manager, Plant accountants, and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.

• Monitor costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.

• Develop and implement internal job costing processes for manufacturing operations review and provide best practices to ensure a strong infrastructure for decision making.

• Manage organizational cash flow forecasting and monitor cash balances and funds transfers between financial institutions.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and reconciliation processes.

• Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and supporting auditors during the audit process.

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis and models to support business decisions and evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and future business opportunities.

• Recruit, hire, train, develop, manage and evaluate the finance/accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed.

• Ensure financial accounting system is maintained with proper application controls such as adequate segregation of duties and appropriate assigned roles for the finance team and employee users.

• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and local regulations as well as taxation laws, financial regulations, and internal policies.

Requirements

Desired Qualifications/Background Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or relevant certification (such as CPA, CFA, etc.) is preferred.

• Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a CFO or in a senior financial management position.

• Must possess expertise in CapEx and CRM.

• Proficiency in Budget Processes and Capital Management is needed.

• Must have a solid understanding and experience in Cash Flow Analysis.

• Exceptional leadership, management, and communication skills are needed.

• Must have proven strategic planning experience at the management level.

• Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.

• An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.

• A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be a team player who can build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
