2nd Shift Production Operator

Job Description

A machine operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery used in the manufacturing process. Machine operators will work both individually and as part of a team to deliver consistent work and report accurate information on a timely basis. To succeed in this position, the individual must be able to produce timely and high-quality output within the company's quality and production run standards. Individuals must demonstrate standard levels of productivity and quality output while being committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare machinery for operation by performing routine maintenance tasks and conducting safety checks to ensure the equipment is in good working condition.

  • Set up and operate production machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

  • Monitor machines during operation to ensure they are producing products that meet quality standards.

  • Conduct regular in-process inspections to ensure quality control standards are met.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and make necessary adjustments to fix any issues that arise during the production process.

  • Record data such as production numbers, machine settings, and product quality data.

  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to the proper use of PPE to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and other employees.

  • Consistently meet production requirements.

  • Continuously work in a safe manner and maintain a safe and clean work area.

  • Follow company rules and comply with cross-training and other training requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to speak and read English effectively.

  • Ability to read and interpret gauges and record measurements.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), operating and maintenance instructions, and any relevant manuals.

  • Ability to stand for an 8–10-hour shift.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong time management capabilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience preferred, but not required.

  • Mechanically inclined.

  • Experience with inspection, machine operation, and set-up.

  • Basic computer skills to enter activities in the ERP system.

Our client manufactures a new generation of power transmission lines that are lighter, stronger, and have less environmental impact than traditional power lines. The facility is very clean and modern, providing a conducive environment for safe and efficient work. Employees are required to follow safety protocols and use proper PPE.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntington Beach, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
