This position is part of the Mill Leadership Team at the Hudson Bay oriented strand board mill and reports to the Plant Manager.

Key Functions:

The position works closely with the mill leadership team, engineering team members and external contractors and vendors to implement capital and pool projects safely and efficiently within budgetary guidelines. The successful candidate should be willing to work in a true team environment with a constant slate of projects being implemented. The successful candidate will need to possess excellent organizational skills to manage daily priorities and exceptional leadership skills for successful capital and pool project installations. The position should lead and facilitate the capital execution process for the area while organizing and documenting all required records serving as central process gatekeeper.

The position is instrumental in advising area leaders in technology enhancements needed to improve operating performance and supporting process reliability improvement and strategies. This position is instrumental in updating and owning hierarchy and assets in our CMMS database. This position also assists the mill in fire risk mitigation work.

Qualifications

  • Exceptionally strong safety values
  • Engineering degree or a diploma in Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of industrial, mechanical, civil, electrical engineering experience in projects

Candidate should have knowledge of:**

  • Safe work practices in an industrial environment
  • Industrial equipment theory and operation
  • Project management and management of site capital project allocations
  • Scheduling, and purchasing.
  • Contractor management
  • A working knowledge of ACAD and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience leading process reliability practices and familiarity with reliability metrics, systems, and applications.
  • Knowledge of or have the ability to learn about industrial process equipment: baghouse, conveyors, pumps, fans, burners…
  • Experience in OSB, chemical plant, pulp & paper or any industrial process plants is preferred.
  • Results oriented personality.
  • Ability to work independently or in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Effective communication skills

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $104,400 - $153,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 10% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
