Building Concrete Solutions (BCS), is searching for a Concrete Estimator. BCS provides site concrete, foundations, tilt-wall and elevated concrete services. We handle concrete material, placement, and finishing for a range of flexible project delivery models. We think like a contractor. Job Purpose

This position will work closely with professionals in other areas of the construction process, including clients, design teams, and vendors to craft a detailed proposal outlining the costs of a specific construction project.

Construction Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of plans and specifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of Tilt wall construction

  • Knowledge and understanding of conceptual estimating

  • Identify and resolve constructability issues

    Administrative Knowledge and Skills

  • Prepare complete estimates and proposals for Tilt Wall and Flatwork projects

  • Generate and adhere to estimate schedule

  • Knowledge and understanding of Sage Estimating and Onscreen Takeoff Software

  • Meet an accelerated schedule

  • Take ownership for multiple/diverse project responsibilities simultaneously

  • Address highly complex issues related to schedule, budget, constructability, subcontract coordination, etc.

  • Knowledge and understanding of subcontracts and scopes of work

  • Knowledge and understanding of the preconstruction process

  • Knowledge and understanding of the bid process

  • Perform project turnover meetings

    Financial Management Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of construction finance terms, processes, and procedures

    Communication

  • Demonstrate strong relationships and teamwork

  • Conduct effective meetings

  • Negotiating skills

  • Escalate issues (schedule, budget, constructability, etc.) in a timely and effective manner

  • Produce effective written correspondence

    Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university

  • 5 to 10 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
