POSITION OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF DIVISION
The Information Technology Division is responsible for providing and maintaining the technology infrastructure, systems, and applications that act as a force multiplier to assist the Houston Airport System in pursuing its mission and vision. The Information Technology Division is further responsible for maintaining awareness of, and then sourcing and implementing technology, as and when it emerges, to keep the Houston Airport System at the vanguard for safety, efficiency, and above all, superior customer service.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to build and maintain a modern, efficient, and effective solutions and drive organization in transforming and automating the business processes, tasks, data output and utilization. This position may serve as a Power BI specialist in business or functional area for the design, development, maintenance, and enhancements and collaborate data visualization, data transformation life cycle and process improvement projects. Provides technical documentations, guidance and training to less experience team members and may collaborate with other business units for quality assurance responsibilities. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain a federally mandated security clearance.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Design, develop, and deploy solutions using Power Platform based on business requirements
Provide Power Automate workflows and automation solutions
Build Power App (Canvas and Model Driven Apps)
Develop Power BI interactive dashboards and reports
Perform data integration and manipulation tasks using connectors and APIs
Design, develop, and publish Power BI dashboards
Implement API functionalities
Perform Quality Assurance on a product and data
Document process guidelines and technical specifications
Provide on-going technical support, including maintenance and troubleshooting, root-cause analysis
Collaborate with business stakeholders and document user requirements and functional specifications
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position routinely requires lifting of moderately heavy items, such as computers, printers, or records boxes (up to 40 pounds) and/or stooping, bending, very long periods of walking on rough surfaces on a routine basis and extensive use of a video display terminal. There may be sources of discomfort, i.e., outdoor installations, hot/cold temperature and humid/wet conditions. Hands-on environment. May have on-call responsibilities and rotating shifts. Significant time spent using computer display, keyboard and mouse.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management and Information Systems (MIS) or a closely related field.
Application-specific technical certifications may be considered for substitution for 1 year of experience.
Related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
At least three (3) years of technology experience creating or configuring software applications.

Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
Preferences shall be given to those with the following experience:
Preferred certification: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals certifications, Microsoft Dynamics, Other relevant applications’ certification.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform architecture, components, and capabilities.
Preferred - 1 year or more experience in PowerApps Developer role.
Preferred - 1 year or more experience in other Power Platform components.
Preferred - Experience and high technical proficiency in SQL, ETL, DAX, Data modeling, Data Warehouse/Data Lake, Azure, and visualization tool such as Power BI.
Experience in mentoring other developers on Power Automate and PowerApps OR new programming language or framework.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with internal and external customers and team members.
Proven analytical skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Attention to details.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a competing priority environment.
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
