About you and this role –

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Document Control Specialist located inHouston, Texas.

As a Document Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing Supplier documents. You will prepare project documentation status reports as required by Project Team. You will follow departmental guidelines and established processes for Supplier documentation and project closure. You will also maintain daily activity logs and assist co-workers with workload as needed.

Responsibilities –

  • Manages files and document processing in compliance with Dow’s best practices

  • Functions as the department expert for documentation control and compliance

  • Follows the document control process for receiving documents from the supplier, routing to engineers for approval, and sending the documents back to the supplier.

  • Logs revisions and distribute to key team members.

  • Ensures transfer of engineering documents into the plant, tech center, and site engineering records.

  • Maintains drawing index for documentation numbering, equipment and tagging

  • Feed documents into the main library, which includes regular submittals through Design and Construction, and the final documents turned over during Project Closure.

  • Runs weekly EDMS audit reports for projects

  • Provides EDMS navigation/guidance support to Design Leads

  • Performs SAP document code receiving

  • Attends weekly SDC Meetings

  • Backup support to HDC/CEC team members

  • Troubleshoots EDMS issues

  • Performs SDC Project Closeout work

Qualifications –

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.

  • Understanding of Document Control processes and tools is required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.

  • Ability to work overtime (extra hours beyond a regular schedule) if required.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Qualifications –

  • Ability to apply software applications to respond to requests with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with diverse groups. The job duties are diverse and require quick, accurate, and consistent decision making.

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities from multiple sources.

  • Organized self-starter enabling good judgment and the flexibility to adapt to priority changes and demands.
