MD Anderson Cancer Center Data Entry Operator - GU Medical Oncology in Houston, Texas
SUMMARY
The Data Entry Operator enters research-specific information into a research specific database from research notes entered into the institutional EHR and communicating with other GU IT staff.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Assists in data entry of research specific information in a timely manner:
Responsible for accurate and timely transcription of study data to paper and/or electronic Case Report Form (CRF), retrieving information from electronic record, chart, and/or phone call. Requires ability to gather relevant information and determine the appropriate information to report.
Works closely with Primary Data Managers to ensure consistency of research data in the database; Includes generating queries for missing source documentation in the form of a missing note.
Responsible for upload of diagnostic documentation to sponsor vendors portals.
Maintain long term follow up phase of trial by completing follow up visits as required by protocol.
Communicates with the PI, research nurse and other trial team members regarding upcoming deadlines, research and protocol meetings, and other pertinent information.
Collaborates with other members of the clinical research team (research nurses, lab staff, and clinic personnel) as necessary.
Maintains a level of professional expertise through educational programs:
Attends appropriate departmental meetings and institutional continuing education programs.
Maintains working knowledge of current Code of Federal Regulation and Good Clinical Practice guidelines as well as a comprehensive understanding of the research trial process.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills when contacting other GU team members. Assimilates pertinent information in order to compose written correspondence.

EDUCATION:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Six months, data entry, and/or verifier experience.
OTHER:
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
