Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Houston, Texas
Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team located in Houston, Texas. The role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity within the telecom industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of tasks relating to accounts payable, from processing invoices to assisting with month-end closing activities.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval before processing payments
• Process both purchase order and non-purchase order invoices
• Prioritize invoices based on discount potential and payment terms
• Participate in weekly check runs and audit credit card receipts
• Reconcile vendor statements and research and correct any discrepancies
• Respond to all vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain the 1099 maintenance of assigned vendors, ensuring W9 information is up-to-date
• Assist in month-end closing activities, including identifying and submitting monthly accruals
• Collaborate with internal management to resolve any issues related to accounts payable
• Utilize Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel in the performance of job duties
• Perform account reconciliation tasks as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct and Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) processes
• Experience with 3 Way Matching in financial transactions
• Familiarity with Form 1099 preparation and submission
• Proven experience in Month End Close procedures
• Ability to manage and reconcile Vendor Statements
• Skills in Account Reconciliation and maintaining accurate financial records
